To purchase one of the auction lots you must place a bid higher than the starting bid. Bids can be placed in the following ways:

Absentee bid

Filling out the printed form and submitting it to the Sales and Customer Service Department.

Showroom bid

Attending the live auction and raising your hand when the item you are interested in is up for sale. If other bids are placed, you can continue to bid as high as you want against the other bidders following the auctioneer’s instructions.

Telephone bid

By filling out the telephone bid form and submitting it to the Sales and Customer Service Department. After requesting a telephone bid, a Subastas Segre representative will call you when the auction starts. This type of bidding involves covering the starting price.

You have to register as a user on our website before you can bid on a lot. You will create a “user name” and a “password” when you register, which you can use to access a private area on our website, where you can manage your bids and pay for the lots you purchase through our different payment options.

1. ACCESS THE LOT UP FOR AUCTION THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN

You will see all the information about the lot.

2. BID FOR THE LOT

Enter the amount you want to bid and click “bid”. Subastas Segre will notify you by email if yours is the winning bid. Remember that the purchase price (also called a “hammer price) only includes the price of the auctioned lot. The buyer must pay an additional 17% commission above this purchase price, as well as the corresponding VAT (exclusively on the amount of commission).

3. WINNING BIDS

Immediately after the auction, the bidders who won items in the auction may make payment by bank transfer, credit card or in cash (up to the limits established by law). Our administration department will contact the winning bidders who have placed absentee, online or telephone bids, in order to provide them with the corresponding bank details.

Remember that the invoice will include the price of the auctioned lot; an additional 17% commission will be charged above this purchase price, as well as the corresponding VAT (exclusively on the amount of commission).

4. PACKAGING AND SHIPPING

The artwork and items purchased at the auction may be collected, upon payment, on the same day as the auction, or in the following 15 days, with no additional storage costs – after this period, the cost is €6 per day.

You can arrange your own transportation for large or heavy items or ask our shipping department to arrange shipping as well as the insurance to cover the value of the item during transport. The buyer is responsible for the packaging, insurance and shipping costs.
